The program set up farmers' groups and
provides them with the opportunity of regular training. In the 2 districts
of Đức Linh and Tánh Linh, there in total 48 groups, with a total
membership of 1402 farmers. The average monthly attendance at the
meetings has been 500 people. The groups are pretty stable now, some
are at their 40th meeting already. |

Field trips are organized, within and outside the province,
to learn about new techniques. Pilot sites are supported to test and
promote nez techniques or the use of new inputs. Seminars are also
held at the district level to discuss the results obtained for some
crops, and to disseminate the conclusions. |

Assistance is provided to acquire good and cheaper
inputs from recommended sources, thanks to purchases in bulk. Marketing
of the produce from the farms is another goal, and the program provides
the farmers with up to date information on the markets and opportunities. |

New small equipment are proposed, like a paddy seed distributor
and a sprayer for pesticides for cashew nu trees etc. The farmers
groups may share them or buy them collectively. |
| Training of technicians at the commune level, to improve the coordination
and services with the program and with government services. |
